Spread The Word about CRUDE: The Real Price of Oil
Thank you for spreading the word about CRUDE and the Clean Up Ecuador Campaign. For an independent documentary like CRUDE and a grassroots organization like Amazon Watch, word-of-mouth support is critical.
See a list of the ways you can help below. Use the resources in the CRUDE Tool Kit to support your outreach/promotion of CRUDE. The following list was created with organizations in mind but as an individual, you can help in many of the same ways. If you have other ideas about ways to get the word out, go for it (and send along your suggestions).

On your website or blog
- Post news about the film's release and embed the film trailer on your site and/or blog. See our recent blog post for reference.
- Write a post about the Clean Up Ecuador campaign, along with news about the release of CRUDE, which highlights the campaign. See our CRUDE Tool Kit for resources.
- Post a CRUDE banner ad on your site/blog
- Send a message to your list(s) about the theatrical release of CRUDE, a week or two before it opens (See sample email)
- Send a reminder email a day or two prior to the opening of the film in your city with a link to buy tickets.
Social Networks
- Post (share) the CRUDE page on your profile (and on group & fan pages)
- Send an announcement about CRUDE to your friends
- Send geo-targeted update to friends in NY, SF, LA, DC and other regions in advance of screenings (same timing as email blasts)
MySpace
- Post MySpace blog and send MySpace bulletin linking to CRUDE page
- Post movie poster or other film/campaign art on MySpace profile.
- Tweet about the film and/or retweet the @crudethemovie's tweets; general promotion, pre-screening tweets, and tweet a review & link
- Follow and retweet @amazonwatch
